Use the rankings wisely How to find legitimate sweepstakes—and avoid prize scams
A legitimate sweepstakes clearly identifies its sponsor, provides official rules, explains eligibility and entry limits, and never requires a winner to pay a fee to receive a prize. SafeTracker compares platforms and directories using those signals, along with winner evidence, fulfillment complaints, entry friction, realistic opportunity, and marketing pressure.
The ScamFactor score runs from 1 to 10, with lower scores indicating fewer concerns. It is a comparison tool, not a promise that every promotion on a platform is safe. Check each promotion’s official rules, use a dedicated email address, and be cautious when a form requests sensitive information before you have been verified as a winner.
Higher = more red flags, hidden fees, aggressive spam
